Song: “TRAPDOOR” by Salem
Song Link: HERE
Goth-juke-electro-whatever-the-fuck trio SALEM make music for late nights fueled by booze and weed and pills; their songs conjure images of smoke-filled, darkened warehouses at 3am, when you’re just fucked up enough to close your eyes under the colored lights and sway, 40oz. in hand. “TRAPDOOR” bleeds creeping synths and a seriously stoned beat, while singer Jack Donoghue spits mumbled rhymes like some demonic dropout on a bottle of cough syrup. And the slurred refrain only adds to the song’s hazy ambience: “It’s all blurred out / Hey bitch, I can’t see ya.” For sure, things are going to get blurry.
